Inserting a field name into a procedure

To insert a field name into a procedure in the current buffer:
- Place the cursor at the point where you want to insert the field name.
- Choose Edit
Insert Fields from the main menu. If you are connected to a database, OpenEdge displays the Field Selector dialog box, as shown below.
If you are not already connected to a database, OpenEdge displays an alert box. If you choose OK, OpenEdge displays the Database Connect dialog box. See OpenEdge Development: Basic Database Tools for information on this dialog box. After you connect to a database, OpenEdge displays the Field Selector dialog box:

- Choose the fields you want to insert.
- Specify prefixes to include with the field names. See the "Edit>Insert Fields" section for more information on these options.
- Choose OK. The Procedure Editor inserts the field names into the current buffer at the cursor position.
